Chiropractors Become Unified
Question: Are there different types of
Chiropractors and what is the difference between a straight and a mixer?
Answer: Chiropractors are very unique in that each doctor of chiropractic
can choose from numerous clinical procedures and approaches to brand their
particular style. In this sense
chiropractors are very different. Philosophically most chiropractors share one
primary dogma that keeps them unified.
This major premise is that by removing the vertebral subluxation
complex, (abhorrent neurological function, secondary to vertebral
misalignment), the innate intelligence that heals the body can be released to
return the body to homeostasis. The same intelligence that creates the body
heals the body and its conduit of communication is through the nervous
system. No other profession can
specifically locate and correct vertebral subluxations. The unifying bond
between all chiropractors is their universal acceptance of the vertebral
subluxation complex.
Straight
or mixer chiropractor are archaic terms.
There are chiropractors that choose to be called straight due to their
rigid belief system in their approach to managing the vertebral subluxation. The mixer was considered any treatment
outside the straight belief system. Chiropractic has evolved over its 100 plus
years of existence. New ideas and
techniques in approaching this vertebral subluxation complex (V.S.C.) has
improved and enhanced treatment. The
original techniques are still very effective but there are advantages to the
new techniques also.
The chiropractors of the
State of NJ are unifying to present one voice for chiropractic to the
public. The many different chiropractic
organizations are attempting to move towards a unified front regarding laws
that will help patients get timely appropriate care. It is an exciting time for the profession of chiropractic,
chiropractors and their patients.
You can support your
chiropractor by registering to vote an asking him or her which politicians
represent the right choices to benefit you and your care.
